what's next? (the september update)
posted september 11, 2024hello lovely internet friends, i am writing to you again in the form of the internet blog which i hope you will enjoy
so what's been going on? i hear you ask through our online connection. where are you when you're not working on the site?
anyways the answer is volleyball and that i am literally the world's busiest boy right now. that's literally it. i have practice right after school from 3:30-5:30 and then I go home. when i go home, if i'm lucky (because that means i don't have a game), my lovely partner comes over and i spend my evenings with him. hopefully one day soon there will be one of these blogposts that i write in which this is not an issue because i will write my blogposts in one room and he will just be over in the next. ANYWAYS. outside of volleyball and volleyball games, i usually hang out with my friends or my boyfriend, or running my D&D campaign.
my D&D campaign is currently running every other sunday and all of my friends are really enjoying it, so that makes me really happy. i remember when i was a kid and i would have to wait all year just for the one time my dad would get his team (he was a coach) together and he would run a little game of D&D for them. if i told that little kid that they would be running their own D&D campaign with their friends i think they just might faint. it's a lot of pressure though, since i want it to be really fun and enjoyable and memorable (i want to do a good job). this pressure is solely put on by me, though, i know. my friends are just happy to sit around on a sunday playing the nerdy dice game. i love my friends.
then, finally, when i have a little more free time and a little less brain energy, i play video games. i'm playing baldur's gate 3 right now (still) and even though it's taking forever and i'm being very tedious about it, it's a lot of fun. i've just now gotten out of the starting map and up onto the Risen Road and into the Githyanki Creche. funny story, actually, is that when I went in the creche (mild spoilers BEWARE) and met the healer lady and the Zaithisk blew up i FORGOT TO SAVE RIGHT AFTER. so i went into another room and a fight started (that I knew I couldn't win) so I went to reload the save and then i realized :( so i had to do it all over again. but THEN, the second time i did it i succeeded in romance with Lae'zel so that was pretty cool. not to be explicit or anything. ew yuck whatever
okay so, into the title of the blog post: what's next? and i named it this just to be a little bit vague and have a title other than "september update." what comes next for me (after volleyball, which won't end until mid-october) is bowling! i'm really excited for bowling but i'm getting a different coach than the one i had last year so i am a little nervous. i hope my coach from last year is around at the bowling alley so he can help me and give me pointers, because our new "coach" is just a volunteer who doesn't know bowling, really. i used to manage wrestling in the wintertime, but i don't do that anymore. the mornings were really early and while it was fun, i just stopped really enjoying it after a while. it's a big time commitment and bowling was right there, so now we know where that went.
i'm really excited for wintertime and fall. more time indoors on my 'puter and talking to my friends and enjoying life. less of the hustle and bustle of the summer. it's about time to slow down, get cozy, and make as much apple cider as my heart wants.
